Raise Your Hand Texas in 2013 was evolving from primarily a behind-the-scenes advocacy organization to a public-facing philanthropy investing in programs designed to strengthen and improve public education, grants to help accelerate other organization’s efforts, research and polling, and multimedia brand marketing and storytelling. The organization’s logo, look, and feel were outdated and unremarkable, especially when examined within the context of the many other nonprofits in the Texas education space.
We worked with Milkshake Media to arrive at a new stylized wordmark logo, a distinctive color palette, and a fresh positioning that balanced the organization’s strong policy and advocacy work and the rising programmatic work that furthered Raise Your Hand’s mission.
From there, our team took the new look and commissioned and helped build out a new website, designed new collateral and swag, and started building complementary brand identities for new programs, most reinforcing how we were “Raising” education quality, engagement, leadership, and more across the state of Texas.
We introduced a new organizational slogan — The Future Of Texas Is In Our Public Schools — that caught fire as a rallying cry for public education advocates. We added slogans for the Charles Butt Scholarship for Aspiring Teachers for both aspiring teacher recruitment — Give Rise To The Future. Teach. — and to generally elevate the teaching profession — Teachers Give Rise To The Future — and developed swag and promotional items for events and gift packages.
