Well, we just got some moderately high winds and a bit of rain, but our power stayed on the entire time, with just a few flickers. That could still change.
There are some branches strewn about the backyard and in front of the house, but it doesn’t look like any significant damage was done around here.
I went to bed close to midnight and woke up around 2:30 a.m. and turned on the tv just as Rita made landfall in Cameron, Louisiana. Poor Beaumont and Port Arthur. They got hit hard and I think the storm hit them again as it circled.
But, all is well here for now. We’re giving thanks and plan to walk around the neighborhood in a few to survey the area.
