175 miles – Cloudy, sunny, cloudy, sunny – breezy, breezy, breezy

The wind is blowing more frequently and a little heavier. I wonder where my little squirrel friend is. I think I’ll wonder that throughout the night. Where do the animals go?

I wish I could summon winds at my back during my golf games. Then I wouldn’t have to club-up twice during my rounds with friends. With a 50 or 75 mph wind beneath my wings, I could probably stripe it pretty nicely. Of course, that doesn’t take into account the fact that I’d look like one of the X-Men. My buddies would wonder if I were wearing Underoos. Ok, enough on that.

My in-laws’ backyard is blanketed in leaves. New ones are falling one by one along with small twiggy branches. I don’t know whether the storm will create more debris, or clear it out for them. I’m guessing the former.

I’m amazed that some people chose to remain in Galveston. I pray that they’ll be around to share some great stories after the storm.
